Who We Are?
The Global Society of Tigray Scholars and Professionals (GSTS) is a 501(C) and 33(2011) legally registered non-partisan, autonomous and not-for-profit global knowledge network of over 5,000 Tigray academics – well-established wide-ranging professionals (intellectuals, scientists, policy makers, industrialists, educators and so forth), students and other personalities who aspire to help Tigray, its people and the Horn of Africa at various capacities and level of engagements. GSTS seeks to develop a knowledge – based resilent society and economy in Tigray and beyond, that is both sustainable and far – reaching. To realize such endaveours, GSTS focuses on several components of building and advancing knowledge-based development including academia, multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral research and applied policy development, human capital development, fostering and advancing science, technology, and innovation; skill/technology/knowledge transfer; youth and gender development; community engagement; migration and displacement; and other educational and development-related endeavors. GSTS also works in diplomacy and advocacy, peace, justice, good governance, institution building, human rights, and humanitarian works.
